Good Wednesday afternoon,
I remember a line in a movie that one of the leading characters described how he was feeling after nonstop crisis. He said: ‘I feel like too little butter spread over too much toast’. Simply stated, the movie character was just plain tired!
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired! I am sitting at the kitchen table, watching the few remaining leaves fall, and thinking: ‘why am I so tired’? Frankly, the cares and concerns of this world are getting heavy.
We continue to deal with the Covid 19 virus and the sicknesses it has caused. From mild to more serious we are concerned for each person in our church and community. We have also been having home school as part of the quarantine process for the past 2 weeks. Throw in the tough decisions on how and when to have church services and top it off with a contentious and uncertain Presidential election that is nearly a 50/50 split….well it feels like there is no end in sight and its exhausting.
I did a little search about what God’s Word says about being tired. As your Pastors, more of the time our focus in on teachings that can help our people become deeper followers of Christ. This time, the searching was for me. I don’t know about you but I need a breather. I need some clarity. I just need a little peace!
In our world today, we get opinions from everyone and everyplace about just about everything. I just want to know what God thinks about all of this. What do I do when mentally and spiritually I’m tired?
If you find yourself tired from all of the circumstances of life God has the answer. Go to Him, wait for Him, and continue in well doing!
Please listen to phone/text messages in regards to worship opportunities. Please continue to be faithful givers in tithe and faith promise giving whether by mail or online giving. Please reach out to us if we can help you in any way.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor John and Pastor Melony
